What Causes Headache And Pressure In Eyes After Closing Eyes Tightly?

I have a question regarding eye pressure.
Today I went to a hair salon to cut my hair. When they shampooed my hair they made me lie down and tilt my head back. I kept my eyes closed HARD to make sure no water or shampoo would get into my eyes.
It lasted about 15 to 20 minutes and I had a headache the entire time.
1. I'm worried that having my eyes closed so tightly for 15 to 20 minutes might have done something bad to eye muscles or other parts of my eye. Should I be concerned?
2. Do you think being in that position for that long could have increased my intraocular pressure? Can something like that damage my optic nerves?
I know my questions sound strange but with dry eye symptoms and painful eyes, I'm a bit stressed out. Thanks for your understanding.
No need to worry these will not affect the eyes.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic
I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.
I reviewed your history and the previous questions you had asked to Health care Magic.
I can understand your concern and I would like to say not to worry as these will not affect the eyes.
The responses to your questions are as below.
1. Closing the eyes tightly will not affect the intraocular pressure or the muscles of the eye. Hence no need to be worried,
2. Lying down with tilting the head back will not affect the intraocular pressure and it will not damage the optic nerves.
Hence I advice you not to worry and your symptoms appear to be basically because of dry eyes and they will resolve with treatment of dry eyes.
Hope this is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.
Thank you
With regards
