What Causes Headache Mainly Located In The Right Eyeball Area?

Question: Hi,
For the past 72 hours I have had this headache that I can not shake. The pain seems to be mostly located to my right eyeball area. The seriousness of the pain ebbs and flows but never goes away. I think it is sinus related for when I get in a very hot shower the pain subsides as long as I am in the shower, but of course I can not stay in the shower 24/7 as appealing as that sounds.
I have had these headaches all my life, however, they never last more than about 12 hours or so. Never has one lasted more than 12 hours, much less 3 straight days. Sinus medicine, hot steam, etc...has ALWAYS worked, but now these things are not. Any ideas of why this headache is different? Thank you...
Brief Answer:
Diabetic Retinopathy...
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Basing on your medical history and the symptoms that you refer, I think that you suffer from Diabetic retinopathy.
Diabetic retinopathy is the damage of eye retina caused by diabetic complications.
Retinopathy causes eye edema and edema causes pain and loss of vision.
So, you need the following tests to determine the diagnosis:
1. Visual acuity test.
2. Ophthalmoscopy, to check the eye fundus.
3. Optical coherence tomography.
4. Tonometry test(to check the intraocular pressure), to exclude the possibility for eye glaucoma.
Contact your Neuro-Ophthalmologist.
For anything unclear, ask me.
