What Causes Headaches, Dizziness And Nausea?
Information
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Headaches may be due to a number of different causes, and if you have not had this current type of headache evaluated in the past, it is important for you to go in now to be seen and examined.
The dizzy/spinning sensations can be due to benign paroxysmal positional vertigo or other inner ear problems, but again, it can be caused by a number of problems.
A thorough review of your medical history, medications that you are on (some can cause headaches and vertigo too) and current history (such as how long you have had these symptoms, what may have precipitated it, and how severe it is) is needed if not already done. Depending on your history and neurological exam when you are seen, imaging studies (such as a CT of the head) may be needed. Also, blood tests can provide more information too (blood sugar, chemistry/electrolyte panel).
The nauseated feeling is not uncommon when people have vertigo/spinning sensations.
So - if you can get in to see your regular doctor now, good, but otherwise go in to the ER or urgent care. When there, make sure you are seen by a doctor and not a PA or nurse practitioner. You may need to request this specifically.
If you already have a neurologist, then call his or her office today to report your symptoms.
I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
Your welcome -
