What Causes Headaches While On Trazodone?
Need more information
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
Trazodone is associated with headache as an adverse effect in some patients using it but the headache is usually mild and subsides within a couple of days or so. Lisinopril, simvastatin, and metformin, and ambien too aren't likely to cause severe headaches as a common side effect.
Kindly answer the following to help you better
Is the headache bilateral or limited to one side ?
Is there association of visual symptoms that occur before the headache ?
Do you have a feeling that a headache is about to commence before the severe episode starts ?
Have you measured your blood pressure during such an episode ?
Do you have a runny nose, tender to touch cheek bones or scalp ?
Do you have any post nasal drip or constant need to throw out phlegm and hawk ?
Wishing you best of health
Thanks

What about the cannabis? I've been smoking for a long time. Could it suddenly cause the headAches?
No cannabis is not a likely cause for the headaches
Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
No, cannabis is unlikely to be the cause because it has analgesic properties. The headaches have a trigger as they are of recent onset according to the previous question. Other than the drugs try to identify any lifestyle changes such as lack of sleep, environmental or diet factors that could have affected such symptoms recently. Another option would be to stop the trazodone and other drugs whose start was related to the headache after consultation with your doctor, to see for improvement in headache. A migraine headache diagnosis cant be reached based on a few recent headaches. Initially , NSAIDs should be prescribed along with identifying any other factors such as eye strain due to improper eyesight , ENT issues like sinusitis , Oral contraceptive use etc. If the episodes occur frequently and the headaches are worse then SUMATRIPTAN and NAPROXEN can be prescribed in combination for aborting any acute attacks and prophylaxis with low dose propranolol or amlodipine should be done after consulting your doctor.

Thanks.
