Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am a 25/F and I have been suffering from headaches for the past year and a half. I have seen my regular doctor and he believed that they were tension headaches because I complained about them being worse at night when my anxiety is at its worse along with a stiff neck and jaw pain. He put me on Xanax, 1mg, 2-3x daily and that managed my anxiety and seemed to keep my headaches at bay. However they started up again about 2 months after I started the medication. They last anywhere from about 3-6 hours. I got another one last night and this one was different from previous headaches, it was much stronger and even after taking a Frova (which almost always get rid of my headaches) it still didn t go away. It was primarily one-sided and about 2 hours into the headache my eyelid got very heavy and I felt as if it were drooping, I began to see white spots and would get a severe shooting/stabbing pain when I saw the spots. No previous history of headaches in my family, although I have heard the weeks up until my paternal grandfather passed away (in his 70 s) he began to get migraine headaches. My BP is normal and my last eye exam showed nothing abnormal with my eyes. I do however have a history of depression and anxiety.
Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist, Sonia Dhawan's Response
Hi,
Migraine has many presentations. It is aggravated by tension and anxiety and might be progressive in nature. I would recommend you to join some good meditation program of your choice and start working out which must include some form of aerobic exercise. If worked on diligently should reap results in a month or two.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Sonia Dhawan, Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist
