What Causes Heart Palpitations After Having Thyroxine?
Question: I asked a question before about my thyroid & got the answer that I needed to take medications, not supplements. So here goes again: I have side effects from Synthroid, Levothyroxine, Tirosint and Armour thyroid. I didn't sleep for 3 days & nights and the most worrisome is heart paplpitations. I used ZQuill every night for 3 wks, but decided I couldn't do that the rest of my life. I tried a supplement from the health food store & again heart palpitations. As I researched the ingredients I found that L Tyrosine can cause that side effect. Instead of telling me to "take medications", I would like you to tell me other ones that I can tolerate.

I agree that Thyroxine can cause palpitations. In your age group, we need to introduce it very very gradually. I must say that natural supplements can not substitute for Thyroid hormones.
May I know what was your last Thyroid blood tests like? Do you have a copy of a recent thyroid blood works? If yes, Could you attach a copy? Did you have an ECG ( EKG) recently?
I need to know your weight as well to predict the requirement of thyroid hormones.

I will supply you with what I can. I need to locate my last TSH test. I am 5 ft. tall and weigh 116 lbs. I have not had an EKG. The palpitations have stopped as of this morning since I have stopped Armour and the health store supplement. what is the e-ml adress that I can send the TSH to?
