Question: it hurts in my chest-between my breasts- when I swallow. It's kind of like heartburn, but it isn't. I have a hiatal hernia. It just started today.

Thanks for writing to Health Care Magic, I am Dr Muhammd Ahmad, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.

pain with swellowing is not the heart it is related to stomach. Heart burn is usually pain AFTER eating pain with earing is usually errosion of esophagus or stomach which is more common in people with hiatal hernia. Simple measures are needed to help it.

1) Eat soft n well chewed food.
2) Dont swellow big chunks.
3) Avoid coffee caffeine fizzy drinks soicy fried food.
4) Use fibrous food.
5) Prokinetics and meds like PPI are of great help you can discuss them with your doctor.

There is nothing much to worry it will get better in a couple of days with care.
