Question: Hi doc..I had a c Section delivery on July.I am breast feeding as well as bottle feeding since my milk supply is low.My periods have returned .Iam having a heavy menstrual flow for two days.Doctor suggested to take medicine trapic .My flow is reduced for two days but still period is there.How long tablets to be taken.Alternate solution for heavy periods plz suggest.Normally my periods before delivery would be for 4 or 5 days maximum.

After delivery initial 2-3 periods may be heavier than normal. You need to continue with Trapic till the bleeding stops. In case the bleeding is persistent even after 7 days then hormonal treatment may be needed after consulting your gynecologist.
To control the bleeding you can opt for hormonal contraceptives also. Do consult your gynecologist for that.
