What Causes High BP After Waking Up?
High blood pressure is expected in the morning
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM. I understand your concern. Thank you for your question.
Most of the people refer that they have elevated blood pressure in the morning. Since your blood pressure figures are normal throughout the other part of the day, I think this is a normal response of the human body to waking up. After the night of sleep when all the vagal mechanisms are activated, comes the "waking up" phase of the day, where a lot of hormones are secreted in the circulation to wake up a human organism, such as cortisole and epinephrine, which, among other properties, elevate the blood pressure. Therefore, nothing to be worried about at this point, and I do not think to change anything in your current perscribed therapy.
I hope you find my answer helpful. I am happy to help, if you have follow-up questions.
Best regards,
Dr. Meriton
