Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.
Your BP is high and the data you provided show that the medication you are taking isn't enough to control it.
If you were my patient I would have add a diuretic and a calcium channel blockers to your therapy in order to control BP. Also iw ould have lowered beta blockers dose to prevent from bradycardia.
Hope this will be of help!

Yes, this really helps me. I reminded the nurse practioner this morning that I take 3 pills for hypertension but neither has HCTZ; so I was given a rx for that. The beta blocker, Bisoprolol, is 5mg. I was concerned about taking it for a long time, but didnt know why. Im glad you mentioned bradycardia I will ask the cardiologist about taking it when I have my first visit 03/04. (I wonder if I need it since the rapid heart rate was probably triggered by the Norvasc) With it, my heart rate never gets above 40-50. So would you recommend a beta blocker and a calcium blocker? Thank you.

Hi back.
I would recommend to discuss with your doctor about starting a calcium channel blockers to control BP and to take half dose of bisoprolol to avoid bradycardia.
