What Causes High SGPT Level And Fatty Liver?
The elevated levels of liver enzymes suggestive of liver disease
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I appreciate your concern for the raised liver enzymes.
The normal and the raised levels of the liver enzymes are:
1. GGT: 0-50 Units/L 55.5 Units/ L Elevated
2. SGPT: 10-55 Units/L 92.5 Units/L Elevated
3. SGOT: 0-37 Units/L 39.3 Units/L Slightly elevated
The ratio of AST/ALT : More than 2.
In view of the raised SGPT, GGPT and a high AST/ALT in presence of fatty liver are suggestive of liver disease.
High GGT level is indicative of liver injury caused by toxins such as alcohol and drugs, etc.
You also have a high triglyceride level.
In view of the above analysis, it is therefore advised that you must avoid the following:
Alcohol (if you consume)
Fatty vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals
Fast and junk foods
Excessive use of drugs like Paracetamol, etc
Your diet should be rich in vegetables, fruits which contain anti oxidants essentially required to prevent the liver disease.
Lifestyle modifications to reduce the body weight like exercise, avoidance of high caloric foods, drink plenty of oral fluids, etc are also recommended.
You need to repeat the above lab tests after 3 months to check the response of the above listed suggestions.
Hope the suggestions given above could be of great help in restoring the liver enzymes to their normal level and hence the liver disease.
Should you need more information, kindly feel free to send your query.
Wish you good health.
