this is XXXX,25 years old.i am in my 14 th week pregnancy and this is my first pregnancy with no history of previous pregnancy.1 week before i gave my blood and urine test.im much worried about my blood test report.please help me to find out whether it is normal or not?5 days before my lmp i got chicken pox immeditely after i took zovirax 800 mg 3 times a day and it got suppressed within 5 days
lmp:march 23
nuchal thickness:1.8mm crl:67.4mm
gestational age at sample date:13+0
fetuses:1
wt in kg:65 ht in cms:162
origin:asian
free beta hcg:296.0ng/ml 8.99 mom
papp a:5.68mIu/ml 1.29 mom
trisomy 21 1:297 cut off 1:250
trisomy 13/18 <1:10000
both tests are below cut off
but why my free beta hcg is very high?is there any other reasons?will my baby get affected by downs? all other thyroid and blood tests are normal.please help.is there any other way to solve my doubt?.i got married on 25th march,2015 and my lmp was on 23 rd march,2015and i confirmed my pregnancy on 6 th may,2015.is anyway chicken pox which i got on 19 th march,2015 connected to my current pregnancy?
is that the reason for raised fb hcg? when i googled most of them mentioned that fb hcg should be less than 1 mom but mine is 8.99 mom(very high).high fb hcg should be one of the reasons for downs?should i go for amnio or cvs?there is no birth defects in my family.everyone yields a healthy baby.
get an amniocentesis done please...explained

Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm for an opinion,
the scan reports are normal with a nasal bone size less than 2mm which is otherwise normal but a triple marker test with a bra hcg levels higher and trisomy cut off 1:297 which is a borderline again it demands a follow up scan and preferably an amniocentesis for karyotyping for ruling out the diagnosis completely.
High 8.99 mom beta hcg on triple marker test is a marker of downs syndrome, yes but it has to be corroborated with ultrasonological soft markers and the near cut off of the triple marker report.
Considering high beta hcgg and borderline cut off, it is suggested that a confirmative test may be done for foetal karyotyping after an amniocentesis. Amniocentesis cn be safely done by 13-15 weeks though CVS is difficult and sometimes has higher risks of abortions sometimes.

amniocentesis is confirmatory...get it by 16th week
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Well you can go for a quadruple marker test if the report has to be reconfirmed but you need not wait for it for next 3 weeks. Get it done now. If the results match , then anyways amniocentesis should be done for karyotyping.
The confirmatory test would be amniocentesis and hence should be undertaken in next 2 weeks itself when the liquor quantity is sufficient and there are least chances of injury during the procedure.
A normal karyotype of 46 chromosomes shall rule out down's syndrome completely.
