What Causes High Fever During 11 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
Question: Hi doctor
I am 11 weeks pregnant and today I am feeling feverish. I just checked my body temperature and it is 99ðF. Any suggestions/advice you have for me?. I don't know if I should take medicine, as I prefer not to.

Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
You can take tablet paracetamol for the time being which is a simple safe drug.
But as you are well aware of the fact that any drug should not be taken every now and then thus take it only if the fever exceeds 100 degree F to a maximum of 3 times a day with meals and never empty stomach.
And note the temperature readings every 6-8 hours and see the pattern.
In case it increases then please visit your Internal Medicine doctor for further check-ups for the Fever

Usually mild fever without infection has no bad effects on the baby but in case it stays for long then it can cause mild growth retardation of the baby and thus you should take extra rest and nutrition and avoid exertion always.
