Brief Answer:
I won't be overly worried in present condition

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

Sometimes following immunisation there can be local reaction in the former of swelling, pain and redness along with fever. In most of the cases it is due to immune response,Sometimes it is due to the faulty technique.
This is more common following DPT injection. At 19 months of age DPT booster dose is given.
It is not that if there is no previous history this reaction will not occur. This can happen anytime.
The main management is to alleviate the anxiety of parents. To give antipyretic for fever,it take cares of pain also. You can give cold sponging to the local site.

This usually subsides in a week. There may be persistence of small painless nodule for weeks and that does not need any treatment.
Sometimes there can be excessive irritability, inconsolable crying. In that case I suggest you to consult your pediatrician.
So, in the present condition I won't be overly worried, will continue to give antipyretic with cold sponging.I would suggest you to continue the feeds to maintain hydration of the baby.
In case of poor oral acceptance, excessive lethargy, irritability, rapid increase in swelling or persistent cry ( cry more than one hour)I would get him evaluated by a pediatrician.
I shall be glad to answer if you have any further query.
Wish your child speedy recovery.
Regards
