What Causes High Heart Rate, Tremors And Diarrhea At The Middle Of The Night?

So I woke up in the middle of the night..around 1:30 AM with a heart rate over 120. My heart rate was going up and down and I also had tremors, and eventually I made my way to the bathroom. I had diarrhea and started vomiting at the same time. I felt cold, but my temp. was 99.7. I was also clammy. My heart rate had gone up to about 140 at one point and drop to 120, then back up and then 100 and so on and so forth for an hour. It was a very horrible experience. It is currently 5:16 where I am at and I've been able to eat/drink and keep everything down, however I am feeling very very very tired. I don't know what happened last night and I'm not sure if this was something I had to go to the ER for.
Anxiety attack
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
It actually sounds like you had an anxiety attack that was triggered by a bad dream. Generally this happens on days with a lot of stress. The difference with thyroid storm is that you didn't have a fever. Thyroid storm can cause fevers that are life threatening. In addition, thyroid storm generally doesn't cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. I wouldn't be too concerned. If it continues, I would recommend getting some anxiety medication that can also help you get back to sleep. I would also try to limit your caffeine intake in the afternoon. Try to get at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise daily. You can try something like Benadryl if it happens again, but I would ultimately recommend seeing a medical professional to get anxiety medication.
