What Causes Horizontal Rash On Back?
Topical corticosteroid and antibiotic cream
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
I have reviewed the clinical pictures and it seems your wife has got the rash from insect bite.
Nothing to worry as insect bites are usually pretty easy to treat.
In such cases, I generally advise application of topical corticosteroid cream like hydrocortisone or mometasone mixed with antibiotic like fusidic acid or mupirocin twice a day for a week or so.
Also take antihistaminics like Benadryl for itching as required.
I am sure she will be fine with the suggested regimen.

History, clinical features suggestive of insect bite
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I can understand your apprehension but
I am sorry to say its practically impossible to make definitive diagnosis by merely looking at clinical pictures without actual clinical examination. I guess thats one limitation of telemedicine we have to deal with.
The diagnosis I have made is from my clinical experience and expertise. The history of sudden eruption, linear pattern of rash with little areas of necrosis and extreme itching are the key findings classical of insect bite rash.
Another best possible diagnosis would be contact dermatitis but I doubt thats the case here.
Hope you will understand my point.
Thank you
