Brief Answer:
Indicates possibility of underlying infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic,

Nothing to be scared about your issue . Increased TLC (Total leucocyte count) indicates the possibility of underlying infection. Its a normal body defence mechanism to increase the number of white blood cells to fight against the bacteria. As you are already a case of COPD , I assume there is a possibility of infection whether it may be in lungs or some where.
A course of antibiotics resolves your issue. So dont worry about it.
