Hello!
Welcome back on HCM!
I understand your concern and would like to explain that your fasting heart rate after meals doesn't seem to be related to H. Pylori.
Even if your may have confirmed this microbiological agent within gastric mucosa, and also a gastric ulcer is present, there is no reasonable explanation why this would be the cause.
Instead other digestive disorders should be sought as well, such as hiatal hernia, gastro-esophageal reflux, etc.
Coming to this point, a fibrogastroscopy would be advisable to clarify this matter.
You need to discuss with your doctor on the above mention issues.
Hope to have been helpful to you!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri

So I understand that a hiatal hernia or acid reflux could cause this problem.

My answer as follows:
Detailed Answer:
Hello again!
You should know that the irritation of the gastro-esophageal mucose by reflux, or a distension of this region in case of hiatal hernia, can cause the activation of the vagal nerve.
As a response to the vagal nerve, the sympathetic nervous system is activated to, leading to loads of adrenaline or noradrenaline in your blood, causing anxiety.
Anyway, I recommend you to check also your blood pressure after eating and perform thyroid gland testing in order to exclude a thyroid dysfunction.
I would also advise some tips to help improve your situation:
- avoid large meals
- try to eat more frequently and in small meals
- using an antiacid or omeprazole can be helpful.
Hope to have been helpful!
Wishing all the best,
Dr. Iliri
