What Causes Increased Weight Gain In Adults?
Question: I am a 41 year old female that has gained 21 pounds in 7 days. My diet does not justify this large of a weight gain, I am in the gym at least 1 hour 7 days a week, sometimes twice a week. Could this be a cardiology, nephrologty, or endocrinology issue?
I am wondering if this is a kidney issue. This is a rapid increase in weight-short period of time.

Brief answer...looks like hormonal issue

Hello,
Thanks for the query,
I have read your query and understand your concern.
I don't think that cause could be kidney or liver or heart because you are not complaining of any swelling of ankles or breathlessness etc.
There seems to be some hormonal issue.
Under active thyroid or a Cushing syndrome or some ovarian disorder can result in fast gain of weight. I would advise you to consult a endocrinologist for proper investigations, diagnosis and then management.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to e for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
