What Causes Increasing Pain In Right Side Of Stomach?
I have had pain in my right upper side adjacent to my stomach. The pain started 3 days ago and has gradually been getting worse. I went to my doctor yesterday and I had no fever and my blood pressure was ok. This morning the pain feels worse. Yesterday, on examination, I could point to the area where the pain was, and when pressed hurt, that is still there but also the pain area seems more generalised. I also feel nauseous today and flu-like symtoms. My bowel movements are fine and no pain when I pee. When I am sitting or laying down the pain eases - unless I roll onto my right side. When I get up and move around it is much worse. Can you advise what I should do?
Thank you

Most probably inflammation of gall bladder.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Read and understood that you have pain in the right upper side of the abdomen for the last 3 days which is getting worse day by day, you could point to the area of pain but now has become widespread.
As per the history you have provided the most probable reason for such a pain would be:
Cholecystitis- meaning inflammation of the gall bladder.
Gastritis with ulcer - here the pain increases on food. and is usually burning in nature.
The best way to get a proper an early diagnosis is the tests of blood, urine and stool; ultrasonography of the abdomen.
Upper GI endoscopy if the gastritis is suspected.
Please get you ultrasonography at the earliest to get the cause and get a plan for treatment.
In the meanwhile I would advise you medicines like PPI (Omeprazole), Antacid, antibiotic and anti-spasmodic.
I hope this answer helps you for an early diagnosis, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if need be or if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
