Colonoscopy results no cancer. Pet scan hot spot and blood results 7.
Brief Answer:
Blood levels of CEA can be done
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HCM,
Inflammation of the rectal area can be independent of the inflammation of the rectal region.
If the colonoscopy is negative for any growth in the colon, you can get blood levels of carcino-embryonic antigen (CEA).
CEA is a tumor marker which gets elevated in case of recurrence of metastasis of the colon cancer.
PET scan helps to determine the site of metastatic focus if any.
You can get these investigations to rule out recurrence or metastasis.
