What Causes Inflammation On Face And Chest After Taking Lysnipril?

default
Posted on Tue, 9 Sep 2014
Question: I take atenhol and lysnipril for high blood pressure, I didn't know when I first started taking it that I needed to beware of the sun. Now my face and upper chest are really red all the time, it looks like a sun burn but it is not warm to the touch, doesn't peel or go away just is always like that. I thought someone told me my skin had photosynthesized. I just wanted to know if there was some way to get my natural skin color back

Brief Answer:
ARB instead of lysnipril

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I went through the query and understood your concern.

Your drug can rarely cause skin rashes. So if this adverse effect is due to drug then with your doctor consultation you can stop lysnipril and can take any angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) drug like telmisartan or losartan. So the rashes will not occur.

Normal skin turnover is 35 to 40 days. So if the insult is removed your new shin will develop in 40 days and hence the original color will reappear. Till then use sunscreen lotion and try to avoid sun exposure. Apply calamine lotion before going to bed and the wash in early morning. These measures will help you.

I hope this information helps you and answered your query. Feel free to ask for any further queries. I will be glad to answer them.
Wish you good health and faster recovery.
Regards

Brief Answer:
follow as I explained. avoid sun.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

yes you need to follow as I explained before. This may be due to sun exposure.
If you think the cause is tablet then you can change the drug. The benefits are almost similar.

Since the redness is seen only on exposed parts better to avoid sun exposure and also avoid any allergy if you are prone to.

I hope this information clarifies you and answered your concern.

Wish you faster recovery.
