What Causes Intermittent Discomfort In The Pectoral Area While Treating Heart Disease?

Question: Good afternoon!
I am 45 years old, I exercise daily and stay in good shape.
2 years ago at the age of 43 I had a heart attack and had a single stent put in my main artery (Widow maker). I took all my meds for just over a year after the surgery and stopped after discussing with my Doctor. Just this year February I had another minor episode and went it...I had two more stents put in as I had one minor blockage and since then I have been taking all my prescribed meds as directed. For about 1 week, I have been having some on and off discomfort in my pectoral area that comes and goes. It does not seem to be the same as I had prior however I simply can not seem to get it out of my head and I think that is part of my issue. I have an appointment set for next week Monday afternoon with my heart Doctor but quite simply I just want to live in peace...should I go to the Clinic to let them check me out now or could my mind be making things seem out of sorts and Monday will be fine...

Brief Answer:
There is no emergency, Just relax and you will be fine...

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir

After going through your medical history provided by you I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that it's a good thing that you are keeping yourself fit and you are very regular with your meds.

Your symptoms looks like more of psychological as you have been through a lot of stuff and somewhere your subconscious is worried of facing something new. So don't worry just relax as you can safely wait till your appointment.

However till that time it's advisable that you should keep a tablet of sublingual Sorbitrate with you as a precautionary measure in case you feel your chest discomfort is building up.

At last most importantly think positive and everything will happen positively.

I hope this information will help you reduce your stress levels and bring you at ease. If you have any other doubts you can ask me back or else you can close the discussion and kindly rate the answer.

I wish you good health

Kind Regards
