What Causes Intermittent Dizziness, Headaches And Fatigue While Treating Factor-V Deficiency?
question re: my daughter - have factor 5 deficiency takes tranaxemic acid, also has raynauds was taking nifedipine but stopped 2 weeks ago as it got warm.
she is getting dizzy intermittently - pre syncopal feels like she could pass out - for past few weeks. saw NP at peds office a month ago for fatigue sleeping too much - she say sleep hygiene pal - but now new problems of pre syncope and she woke from sleep last night because she was dizzy and vomited ? odd. not ill , no fever, no pain. called hemophilia clinic-she sees Dr Boggio there- they say see pediatrician as they don't think it is related. she is stable from her disease. didn't get to see pediatrician saw NP there and she wants to keep a log of this watch and I demanded a work up as my child already has known health problems. also headaches too. she seems ok today after school - going for ekg tomorrow , and then cant find a ped neurologist to get apt with all of them too busy. not happy with my peds clinic. felt this was taken lightly and could be dangerous.
Intake of plenty of fluids is suggested
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through the entire details and indeed the presyncope does not seem related to her factor 5 deficiency. Rather, the first thing that strikes my mind is low blood pressure. I wonder if her blood pressure has been checked. Even if found to be ok, there might be intermittent dips in the blood pressure. I suggest intake of plenty of fluids including ORS (oral rehydration solution). It should keep the presyncope in control. The next possibility that strikes me is low blood sugar. It is also possible that there are transient dips in blood sugar making her feel dizzy. Of course there is no use speculating. Please discuss these issues with your treating physician and definitely he will intervene with the above in his consideration.
Hope that helps.
