default
Posted on Wed, 1 Jun 2016
Question: My boyfriend who is 54 years old keep complaining that his right testicle hurts. this happens off and on. sometimes twice a week. On a scale of 1 to 10 the pain/deep ache is a 5. The pain is inside the testicle. both testicles are the same size and I couldn't feel lumps on the outside. he hasn't been hit in that area either. any thoughts..I'm really starting to worry.

Brief Answer:
It could be Intermittent Testicular torsion.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Intermittent Testicular torsion is a rare condition wherein the testis rotates and derotates leading to pain on and off.It is diagnosed by Colour doppler examination of the Scrotum, only during pain.
Next possibility is Infection and inflammation of the testis.
In my opinion, you should consult a Urologist immediately after pain and ask for appropriate investigation.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
