What Causes Involuntary Head Movement And Neck Pain?
Question: wife (72 yo) is suffering from involuntary head motions (bobbing forward and back) and pain in neck.
Difficulty walking unaided in the last week. Occasional bouts of confusion recently (short term memory occasionally poor).
MRI of spine shows no abnormality. Neurosurgeon reports "nothing warranting intervention:
Neurologist feels that responses to simple "tests" are in normal range.
Where to from here?

The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of Pakinsonism.
My first impression on reading the query is a possible Parkinsons disease.
And this is usually treated by a neurologist, not a neurosurgeon.
The problem is that normal tests for Parkinsonism wont show anything.
And so, I suggest you talk to your doctor about it and ask for a prescription of Syndopa.
The other possibility is Alzheimers disease.
Unfortunately, there is no treatment for that.
