What Causes Involuntary Shaking In Head?

default
Posted on Tue, 22 Jul 2014
Question: I noticed that 9 yrs ago my head would shake after I left an abusive husband. Everytime I mentioned his name my head would shake a little. It has been 9 yrs now and it started again. When I mention my ex employer who was very crude and heartless my friend noticed that my neck started shaking a little. I recently had an auto accident on Feb 2014, and I have been having neck problems and am seeing a chiropractor for my neck and back and acupunture also having laser treatment on my neck and back. What do I have? Can your head shake a little if you talk about something that is stressful. Please let me know. I saw a dr. several years ago and he said I did not have tremors or parkinsons.

I would really appreciate an answer and also what can I do for this?

Hi XXXX
Thanks for using healthcare magic.

From the available description at appears to me that at the unconscious level your mind do not want to deal with past stressful things that happen to you.

As the head shake is related to abusive relationship in both situations our brain settles peace by one or another mechanism. In your case it is a signal to you that your mind is no more interested in both your ex boss and ex husband.

In my view if you are not able to control the head shake consciously than meeting a psychotherapist is the option for you. He will take more history from you and within few sessions of psychotherapy he will be able to teach you how to stop it.

'Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help".
Thanks
