Brief Answer:
iron defeciency anaemia.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
In case of chronic anaemia without any symptoms, we must find the reason to prevent any further problem.
Since low ferritin with anaemia the most probable diagnosis is iron defeciency anaemia.
Here absorption of iron may be inadequate, iron may not being metabolised to ferritin or adequate blood and/or red cells are not being made.
Even in beta thalassemia minor the Hb level will not raise with any treatment due to problem in production of adult Hb and there won't be any symptoms.
So I asked for Haemogram with peripheral smear, electrophoresis for thalessemia and Kidney (renal) function test (RFT) to check for any problem in production of erythropoietin which is responsible for blood production..
You can write or upload the reports in reports column.
Hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask if any further queries.
Wish you good health.
Regards
