Posted on Fri, 7 Oct 2016
Question: I take the lorazepam sometimes twice a day(with at 4-5 hr between) it seems to help me quit shaking and the lightheadness isn't so bad.Should I have my potassium levels checked? I have been on Brovana for 6 years or more.and I use oxygen 24/7.I have an irregular heart beat due to taking Brovana, so that is why I take the heart meds.. I have been drinking wine in the evening, and had not noticed any changes.what suggestions do you have for me? I am 80 yrs and in good health except for my lungs. I did smoke 30yrs ago and I have been in the water teaching swimming since I was 13 yr old. I;v always thought that all the chlorine hurt my lungs more than anything else..I sometime think that maybe I am over medicated....???

Brief Answer:
Get serum potassium levels checked.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam

I can certainly understand your concern.

It's important to reduce the wine consumption in your case.

The tremors are possibly related wine intake.

Yes, it's advisable to get serum electrolyte levels checked.

The tremors will subside with absteince from wine.

It's advisable to keep Lorazepam once a daily dosing at night only.

COPD is less likely to be caused by Chlorine in swimming water.

Further I would like to know what cardiac medications are you currently takingvfor further comments?

COPD in your case is strongly related to smoking.

Post your further questions if any.
Thank you.

for heart medicine: I take flecainide (acetate) for irregular heart beat, xarelto (blood thinner), lisinopril for blood pressure. and metoprolo. Why take the lorazepam at nite only? It seems to help me during the day.,I usually take it before I go to my breathing rehab exercises. thanks for answering.
