What Causes Irregular Menstruation?
We married on jun 2 2106 and anxious to conceive and my wife periods are not regular when i absorbed these 5 months.
she told that she has 25 days count not 30 days count like more women has.
but even that 25 days count is not happening when i absorbed.
example:
Just a drop of bleeding on Sep 25
No bleeding till 30 sep
Start bleeding 01 Oct
Stop bleeding 10 oct
Start bleeding 19 oct(19 days count)
even 2 months before she had of count 15 days
is it like irregular period shall i consult a doctor? if yes then when to go after the periods or now?
There are too much advice from relatives like
1.Dont take sweets
2.Dont ride a bike
3.dont take pomegranate and
irregular menses
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
thanks for the query to HCM,
It is often seen that if the woman's cycles have been regular before marriage then it takes at least 3-4 months for her menses to regularised again after marriage and first intercourse. But if she is experiencing irregular bleeding since 4 months now then she should get a hormonal profile done and also an ultrasound pelvis to check for any organic uterine cause. Ideally a course of oc pills for next 3 months shall help her regulate her cycles but again conditions like PCOD or polycystic ovarian disease, hypothyroidism and hyper-prolactinemia would have to be ruled out which are most common causes of irregularity in menses. Please get her evaluated by a gyno soon.
