Brief Answer:
Information.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

The irregular bleeding is very likely due to the Postinor. It is a progestin only hormone, and a high dose of it, so it can throw off your normal hormonal cycle and cause irregular bleeding.

Usually this irregular bleeding will calm down and you will go back to your normal hormonal cycling within a couple of months - most often the next month.

But if you are bleeding heavily and no sign of it letting up, then I do recommend that you go in to be seen by your doctor or gynecologist. They can provide hormonal medicine to get this bleeding to stop.

I hope you are back to your normal self soon. Please let me know if I can provide further information.

I can't say for sure. But as it's been 2 weeks of bleeding, and the bleeding has been more than just spotting, it's time to go in for help. Once you go in, the doctor will give you either birth control pills (combined estrogen and progesterone) or progesterone only. Once you start on one of these, the bleeding will slow down and stop within a couple of days.

Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Diane 35 can provide contraception but shouldn't be used as a regular form of birth control unless you need it for a short time to control acne. It is prescribed for the treatment of acne. It has higher risks of side effects than standard birth control pills and for that reason it is not typically used as regular birth control in any ongoing way. It is given to control acne and while on it it can function as hormone regulating contraceptive, but it isn't to be used just as a hormonal contraceptive.

If I were your doctor, I would rather you go on a more typical hormonal contraceptive.

Brief Answer:
Thoughts on this

Detailed Answer:
The spotting I am not too worried about. But moderate bleeding shouldn't go on continuously for too long. You can give it a few more days and see if it starts to slow down on it's own - that would be ok to do.

Good luck to you.

Detailed Answer:
Your welcome.

If you now have a partner who you think you will be having relations with again, do consider an ongoing form of contraception. The emergency pills like Postinor are just for emergencies, because, as you are seeing, they can mess up your cycles and also don't always work as well as the regular forms of contraception such as the Pill, or Nuvaring, or IUD, etc.
