What Causes Itchiness All Over Body With Dark Yellow Urine After Taking Cipro?

Question: Hello,
On Thursday, I was treated for a UTI with a sulfa based drug. The sulfa did not agree with my stomach so I was given Cipro instead. I had 2 doses of Cipro before I developed very mild all over itchiness & dark yellow urine. I've continued to take the medicine & have 3 doses left. I'm out of town, should I be alarmed? UTI seems healed.

Brief Answer:
Advised to stop taking cipro&refer side effects to your doctor...
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
From what you are describing, it seems that the very mild all over itchiness and dark yellow urine are indicating possible side effects of using cipro.
If I was your caring doctor would advise to stop taking cipro although the UTI seems healed. You should not be alarmed, but we want to make sure other severe side effects will appear. That's why it is better to stop taking it and refer to the doctor who prescribed.
I understand you are out of town, at least you can go to the nearest clinic or ER for further evaluation and replacement therapy.
All the best!
