What Causes Itching Above The Breast?
Please attach clear images of the affected region
Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. If you do not please could you attach clear images of the affected region for my viewing, it would greatly help. You can do so by either attaching the images to our discussion here to by sending an email to the site:
YYYY@YYYY
But please make sure you enter 'ATTN: Dr. Shoaib Khan' in the subject line.
Could you also write back to me with a response to the following questions:
+Are you currently on any medications?
+Is the affected region raised and/or swollen?
+How would you rate your personal hygiene on a scale of 0 to 5, 0 being poor and 5 being excessively hygienic?
+Have you been diagnosed with any medical conditions?
+Are you allergic to any food, drinks, pollen, dust, cloth, etc.?
+Have you used anything new like new cosmetics, new detergent to wash your clothes, new accessories, new deodorant, new perfume, new sheets, etc.?
+Is there a similar rash or spot of itching anywhere else on your body?
I look forward to hearing from you in order to help you further.
Best wishes.
The site is not raised or swollen. There is no rash on my skin.
I rate myself as a 4 on hygiene.
A few possibilities listed; but only guesses due to lack of visual exam
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.
Thank you so much for that information.
Without a physical examination of the region due to lack of images, I can only assume and provide you with a list of most likely causes based on the information you have given me, they are:
+Dermatitis or mastitis: May have to use a cortisone cream application over the region, or a tube of triamcinolone (avoid application over the nipple region, and avoid long-term use)
+Fungal infection: Anti-fungal creams
+Dry skin: Good moisturising cream
+Ring worm: Ketoconazole cream
Other than the above listed causes, I doubt it could be anything else due to the lack of a rash or raised region. Keep the region clean, and apply a good moisturiser over it always. Please also consider avoiding wearing a bra if the region lies under the bra, during the course of the treatment; to avoid friction and further aggravation. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications ma'am, I am always here to help.
