Brief Answer:
No, the thyroid is not likely the cause of your weight gain.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concern.

The normal range of TSH levels is 0.4 to 4.0 mUI/L.This means that your result is within the normal range only.

Weight gain can be caused by hypothyroidism but in your case the TSH level is normal. You have no hypothyroidism and this means that your actual thyroid gland function is not causing your weight gain.

As I see you are 50 years old, so in my opinion, menopause can be a potential cause of weight gain, at this age.

Hope this information is helpful.
If you have other questions, feel free to ask. I'll be happy to help.
Regards.

Ok thank you
I cant seem to get clear answers I have had blood done and it appears that I am estrogen dominant? I was told to take prometrium 100mg at bed time will this cause weight loss or weight gain? I am being told that I am post menopausal as I have not had a period in 9 years.

Also I have had bladder test done recently they say I have interstitial cystitis and need bladder installations? However my bladder does not really bother me it more my other female organs. I have had CT scan and they say it shows IC and severe constipation which I have suffered with for years. I have read that bladder instatilations cause weight gain? I have gained 8 pounds in the last couple of months. I am 5'4 and weigh 138 my normal weight is 130. I work out everyday sometimes twice day doing variety of work outs including weights.
My stomach looks as if I am pregnant which I know is not possible. Weight does seem to be all over though. If I didn't count calories and exercise all the time I would understand and could even understand a few pounds but this doesn't feel right.
Any suggestions would be helpful. I fill everyone once to sell something and I have been buying it all and now I feel like my body is freaking out.
FYI
I have tried bio hormone creams in the past they seemed to bloat me.
And for several years just the testosterone implants worked great. However they have not worked well in the last year???
Please help!!!
Thank you

Did you get my second post?

Brief Answer:
Do you have any thyroid problem?

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear
I appologise for the late reply.

Prometrium is a progestogen hormone.
It works by changing the lining of the uterus.Weight gain can be a common sife effect of prometrium. So,YEs,this can be the cause or one of the causes of your weight problem.

2.Bladder instillations or bladder cocktails are mixtures of medicines put directly into the bladder. This are used to treat interstitial cistitis. The sifde effects depemds to the drugs that are used but in my opinion this is not the culpit of your weigh gain.

If you were my patient i will ask you the thyroid function test TSh,freeT3 and free T4 to see if you have any thyyroid problem.Hypothyroidism can cause weight gain.

Had you ever done these tests?

Waiting your reply.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
Your thyroid tests results are normal

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

From your thyroid test results,i can deduct that your thyroid gland is normal and it is excluded from the causes of your weight gain.

My advices for you are to cut back on sugars and carbs, drink plently of water especially before meals, eat soluble fiber, eat your food slowly and get a good night’s sleep, every night.

Hope this is helpful.
If you have other questions, feel free and ask.
Take care.
