What Causes Itching And Burning Sensation Around Vagina, Fatigue, And Malaise?
Question: I just went to the urgent care clinic for treatment for vaginal infection or what I believe is vaginal infection. I have had chronic bacterial vaginosis for the last 9 years and may have had some yeast infections, too. It was late when I went in so they gave me what I asked for...clindamycin and diflucan... to cover all the bases. I just want to list my symptoms to see if what I have is bacterial vaginosis because my symptoms are not classic. I have mild itching and burning around vaginal opening, fatigue, and overall malaise. I treated myself with Monistat 3 cream, but it did not go away. What do my symptoms sound like?
I have another symptom I forgot to list. When I applied the Monistat 3 or anything (like Luvena vaginal moisture gel or RePhresh) or Vaginal Odor Control, it gives a burning sensation on my cervix ( I think).

Brief Answer:
Possibly fungal infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Chronic vaginal infection, burning, malaise are suggestive of fungal infection in vagina. Fungal infection can be albicans or non albicans vaginal candidiasis.
It needs to be diagnosed by a vaginal swab examination and culture growth of the smear to assess the type of candidiasis.
Monistat cream will give no relief in non albicans vaginal candidiasis.
