What Causes Itching And Soreness After Vaginal Ultrasound?
it almost feels like a yeast infection but not exactly
Can be due to allergy.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The itching and soreness can be due to allergy to condom used on the vaginal probe.
If there is no foul smelling discharge from the vagina then an infection is not likely.
Clean the vulva with plain, warm water. If you use soap, choose a mild soap, like perfume-free glycerin soap. XXXXXXX it dry. Then apply a good hypoallergenic moisturizer over the area or use a thin layer of Vaseline. Creams containing ceramides and calamine lotion may be helpful but avoid use of any creams containing propylene glycol, lactic acid, urea or salicylic acid.
Also you can take oral antihistaminics like Benadryl or Zyrtec and use topical steroids but don’t take them without a medical supervision unless prescribed by your doctor. He will start with mild steroids first in case the symptoms are persistent.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
You can apply moisturizer twice or thrice a day as per your discomfort.
The symptoms should disappear in next few days. It is better to avoid having sex till the symptoms are better.
