Brief Answer:
Groin Fungal infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
I understand your query and concern.
The rash in the groin region is most likely related to a fungal infection.
Infections are very common in the postoperative period especially in diabetics.
This rash/itch need not be a major concern. This can be treated well.
This rash is not per se related to inguinal hernia surgery.
Fungal infection does not respond to antibiotic creams.
Ointment like Terbinafine applied twice daily will be very effective.
Similarly tab Fluconazole 150 mg once a day for 3 days is also equally effective.
Please note the above mentioned drugs have to be taken under strict medical prescription.
Thank you.
