Question: yes, have been having the signs and symptoms of std , I initially thought it was a yeast infection for it started just a couple of days before my menstrual cycle which has been a normal sign for me just before I start. got through those days and it continued so i bought an over the counter test and it was negative for yeast. itching redness swelling, and pain, yellowish discharge. it is now going on 3 weeks i have had great improvement however the itching continues. I am soon to be 53 and wonder if it can be signs of premenopause?

Brief Answer:
Not signs of peri menopause.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to healthcare magic. I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.

These are definitely not signs of peri menopause.
You probably have a bacterial infection. Do consult a doctor. You need to have internal examination and vaginal swab culture sensitivity test done. Your doctor will also prescribe medicines based on clinical examination findings or after the results of swab test are available. If you are due for Pap smear test, you can get that done too.

If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama
