Hello dear, welcome to healthcare magic.I understand your concern.
In my opinion either it might be pregnancy related pruritis or any liver associated problem.
I need to know:-
1)Is itching associated with rash?
2)How many weeks pregnant is she?
3)Is there any associated nausea or vomitings?
4)Is there any yellow discoloration of urine?
5)Is pruritis more at night or same through out the day?
6)Did itching start after taking any food or exacerbating with any type of food?
7)Since how many days itching is present?
Kindly provide me the information before going to discussion.
Looking forward to hear from you.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,I got your information.I understand your concern.
In my opinion as per from your history it seems like the itching is pregnancy associated. It is routine to see itching in third trimester of pregnancy with varying severity in different people in pregnancy. Nothing to worry about that.Antihistamines like tab.cetrizine or tab.chlorphenaramine maleate twice a day might give relief.Apply moisturizer all over the body. If not subsiding with these measures then you can check for any liver abnormality like intra hepatic cholestasis of pregnancy(ICP).
ICP is a condition where there will be increased bile salts leading to severe itching all over the body. But here there may be associated nausea, vomiting and weakness. And there will elevated liver parameters. This can be excluded by doing liver function tests.
So you can discuss regarding this with your gynaecologist.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to ask any more queries.

Brief Answer:
breast feeding can be continued
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,I got your query.I understand your concern.
In my opinion there might be no chance of infecting the baby. The cause of itching might be pregnancy related which mostly subsides after delivery. So I feel its better not to stop breastfeeding.Bottle feeding is suggested when the breast milk is not suffice or if there is any strict contraindication. And this type of condition is not a contraindication to breastfeeding.
Breast milk is a combination of enzymes, antibodies, protective bacteria which make the baby strong. So unless strictly recommended better not to go for top feeding.
Hope this satisfies your query.
