default
Posted on Mon, 29 Dec 2014
Question: I recently tarted to have itching all over. From scalp down and is actually even affected my "female parts". No bug bites, no new food. It's lasted about 4 days and act up on and off throughout the day. Worse at night. Typically only see redness no bumps/hives. Skin is not dry. Any thoughts?

I can understand your concern.
Your description indicates urticaria,
BUT
If it is not responding to benadryl,it may be fungal, worms in intestine, or scabies.
But to treat the symptom first you should change your anti allergy to cetirizine, a more potent drug.
Steroid may not help, but some time may worsen the case if it is fungal.
I prescribe following drugs to my patients,
1. Albendazole
2.Ivermactin.
3. Cetirizine.
4.Local application of calamine lotion.
Hope this suggestion will help you.If any thing else feel free to a
