Brief Answer:
I would like to know about response to treatment for scabies

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I have taken note of your query and I have also had a look at the Images. I can see a few excoriated lesions on abdomen.

Just by looking at the Images and the fact that these are itchy, I will also keep my first possibility as Scabies.
I guess you have already been treated for scabies.

-I would like to know the nature of treatment that was offered for scabies? Oral Or Topical? and what all?

-Has the treatment benefited?

-How long since you have these itchy lesions/ bumps?

-Is there anyone else in family who also has similar lesions/ itching?

How do you get scabies. I have been traveling quite a bit and could I get them from hotel beds? Will they spread to the rest of my body?

Brief Answer:
I suggest you to got ahead with treatment for scabies

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Thank you for the details.
I advice you to go ahead with treatment.
I will also like to add an OTC Oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching.
Scabies is caused by a mite, sarcoptes scabiei. It is usually transmitted by close contact with other infected individuals e.g other members in the family Or through bed-sheets, towels etc
It is possible that you could have got this mite either from towels, sheets, bathrobe, clothing's etc used in a hotel.
Ideally you should'nt have got it from these, if these were properly laundered or changed.
Scabies may spread to involve other body areas, therefore, treatment is usually by single whole body application of lindane 1% (Gamma Benzene Hexachloride) Or 5% permethrin, starting from neck downwards and left overnight for 8-12 hours.
