What Causes Itchy Rashes Around Genitals During Menopause?

Question: Over the last 4 weeks or so I have developed an itch on the outside of my genital area, there does not appear to be a large rash just 2 small areas of irritation the size of a pea. I have 2 larger areas of irritation ( raised bumpy skin ) on either side of my inner thighs. I first thought that it was caused by the use of some bleach in my laundry which coincided with the beginning of the irritation. Since that occurrence I rewashed my clothes and have been using an over the counter cortisone cream which provides relief but no cure. I am also using an oatmeal bath which I soak for about 30 mins per day. I am married and do not use any birth control or prophylactics. I am also 47 and am experiencing menopause. Can you please help me with this? Thank you for your time.
Brief answer....seems to be fungal infection
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
Your symptoms suggest that you may be suffering from fungal infection.
I would advise you to apply CLOTRIMAZOLE oint locally twice a day and see the response. If you feel relieved in few days, then continue applying for at least 2 weeks.
In case you don't find improvement ,then you are advised to consult your doctor for examination and proper treatment.
I hope it helps however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
