The scabs are not on the groin folds. They are more on the upper leg. Some are on the knee.. I put alcohol to relieve the itch and then calamine lotion to dry them up.
It seems to help. But why do I have them?

Brief Answer:
Topical steroid and Oral antihistamine
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
I would keep a possibility of eczematous dermatitis. Dry skin/ xerosis due to ageing has a role to play. Putting alcohol or calamine would not be effective or temporarily effective as both these are drying.
I would suggest you to apply a moderately potent topical steroid cream e.g mometaone furoate 0.1% or triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream, twice daily. These are prescription topical steroids.
In addition you may take a tablet of oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine10 mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching.
