What Causes Jerking Of Body During The Night?
Nocturnal myoclonus.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.
Probably you are talking about nocturnal myoclonus. It is a rapid jerky movement of usually lower limbs lasting for a fraction of second, often occurring at the onset phase of sleep.
It is a normal physiological phenomena and should not be the cause of worry.
If you are still, apprehensive, you can go for a MRI Brain with Epilepsy protocol and EEG,to rule out focal motor seizure.
However,it does not appear to be a pathological entity, here.
If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.
