What Causes Joint Pain After A Knee Replacement Surgery?

default
Posted on Thu, 9 Nov 2017
Question: If I need knee replacement surgery as I have been advised by a local orthopedist who does many of these surgeries in our area, why then do I seldom have actual pain and there are some days I walk normally w/o a cane ? I do have mobility issues, i.e, stiff joint esp. in my right knee which causes me to use a cane except on some days when, as today, I move easily, comfortably and am pain free ? xx xxxxxxxxx

Brief Answer:
Taking proper supplements and physiotherapy will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
It is good that you are pain free in spite of osteoarthritic changes in the knee. If there is no pain then knee replacement is not necessary. You can delay the procedure by many years by doing a regular physiotherapy and starting with joint lubricant supplements like Glucosamine and chondroitin.
knee replacement is done to reduce the pain and stiffness in the knees that is associated with arthritis. Adding calcium supplements will also help in controlling the mild symptoms that you have. Surgery is recommended when the pain cannot be controlled with the help of medicines.
I hope this answers your query.
