What Causes Joint Pain In Shoulder And Elbow?
Question: I have joint pain in my right shoulder and my right elbow. I can put my finger directly on where it hurts. I do know that I have some disc problems and a couple of bone spurs from C2-C5. I do get this on my left side also, although it isn't nearly as bad. What can it be? Tendonitis, bursitis, arthritis???
Brief Answer:
Painful shoulder & elbow
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Most likely you are having bursitis involving right shoulder and rt elbow joint ,as they are not weight bearing joints.Physical examination is needed to exclude arthritis, tendinitis.
Fibromyalgia (FM) also has often multiple tender points.
Compression of nerve roots at C2-C5 will not cause pain beyond shoulder joints.

Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
To relieve pain you can apply warm compress and diclofenac gel locally.
NSAID (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) like piroxicam (standard dose 20 mg orally along with antacid ranitidine 150 orally daily ) can be taken for relief of acute pain for 3-5 days.
