What Causes Joint Pain, Itchiness And Mild Swelling After Taking Olmetec?

Question: Hello doctors,I was taking Olmetec for my blood pressure got itchy skin all over my body and mild swelling on fingers and joint pains for 2 months ,seen doctors and specialists ,blood tests after blood tests with a few abnormalities, which I didn't suspect that was caused by it till the last especialist suggested i stopped taking it for a month and itchy skin subsided slowly ,joint pains are mild, then doctor changed it to Amlodipine 5 mg and now got very little swelling and very painful side of my right foot ,itch from knee down and itchy tingly sensation on my fingers so now my question is am I allergic to one of the components that these 2 meds have in common and what meds will I suggest to my doctor to try on?
Brief Answer:
Mild hypersensitive drug reaction.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
I understand your query and concern.
You certainly seem to have hypersensitivity drug reaction to one or both components.
Generally mild episodes do not need drug discontinuation, since they do not recur and often subside.
You can be prescribed to try anti allergic drugs to control your current issues.
Drugs like TAB ALLEGRA can be taken one tab a day under medical prescription for 7 days will control your manifestations.
This regimen is sufficient to keep you symptom free.
You can go with Amlodipine.
Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
