What Causes Knot In Stomach, Fever And Nausea?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: My 15 year old has a knot in the left side of her stomach right under her rib she has had a fever and feel like she needs to throw up?
Brief Answer:
Infection or obstruction
Detailed Answer:
Good day
Noted your concern. This could be a sign of stomach infection or upset. It is often possible to have the knotted feeling in stomach after vomiting few times.
However if she continues to vomit and if fever persists, we need to rule out more serious things like obstruction. Give her paracetamol and clear fluids only. Keep her rested. If symptoms worsens or persists, please take her to a doctor or an ER. It is important to do a physical examination before we can suggest further.
I hope you realize the limitations of online consultation in this type of problems. Physical examination is important in such cases.

she has not thrown up yet she said the knot has gone away. what would make that happen
Brief Answer:
Glad to hear that
Detailed Answer:
It is possible that vomiting has releived the pressure in stomach. That would make her feel lighter in stomach. Glad to hear that. However, do not feed her full stomach now. I would advice something light like fruit juice or plain water for atleast few hours. If the symptoms do recur, please do not hesitate to take her to a doc or an ER.
