Question: I have a full body mirror in my bathroom. Every once in a while I examine myself. I know it seems weird as to why I would examine my anus, but I am a 25 yr old white woman, & I noticed I have a large dark brown ring around my anus. And my anus was clean I just got out the shower. Should I be concerned? I'm a little concerned and self conscious about it now. I am a dancer & normally people see that region. I feel gross. I never look at other women's buttholes to compare to mine so I don't know if this is normal

Hi,

I think you seem to be engrossed yourself with normal finding, and if you keep looking at it so many a time.

Our human body color is determined by melonocytes and the melanosomes contain in itt. They release the color melanin. The concentration of the melanosomes say the color of the area on the body. THe ring around the anus is concentrated and thus would be darker. so it is pretty normal.

On the other side every persons melanosomes are pre determined by genes. So every person is different in color. So you cannot compare it with others.

So I think this should fade away some wrong notions you may have. I sincerely ask you not to keep looking at that area till the time the idea fades off.
