Question: I think I have a prolapse , I feel a large lump in my vagina, when I insert a tampax it doesn't go straight in , it's like it goes round a corner ? And when I do a poo it's curved and difficult to get out ? I can't feel my pelvic floor muscles .
Brief Answer:
Can be a prolapse.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Feeling a large lump in vagina that is painless can be due to a prolapse. This can be confirmed only after a physical examination by your gynecologist. Other possibility is a large vaginal cyst. In both the cases the lump needs to be removed or the prolapse needs to be repaired surgically.
Do consult your gynecologist for a proper examination and further treatment.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

Hi again, what surgical procedure is available for weak pelvic floor muscles ? As I feel this has caused my prolapse .
Brief Answer:
Kegel exercises will help.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The weak pelvic floor muscles can be strengthened with Kegel exercises. In case it is actually a prolapse then surgical reduction and strengthening with mesh is done to avoid recurrence. Sling procedure or vaginal pessaries are also used for short term relief.
Hope my answer is helpful.
